following message, Friday, August 5, 2004 is from Cathy' s husband:
My dear wife Cathy passed away peacefully last Sunday morning, August
1, after 21 years of coping with breast cancer. On Saint Nicholas' Day,
December 6th, we would have been married for 35 years.
By now, several arrangements are more clear. Cathy had wanted cremation,
and that is being arranged through Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels.
Family members and two dear friends met Monday evening for a private
reviewal and selected a beautiful bronze urn entitled "Grecian."
Cathy's name and dates will be engraved on it.
A brief notice of her passing appeared in the Wednesday edition of the
Minneapolis Star Tribune. A full notice will appear in the Tuesday,
August 17th, edition -- as well as in the weekly editions of the Warroad,
Farmington, and Buffalo Lake papers. A scan of the photo selected for
the full Star Tribune notice is attached. It's from a snapshot of Cathy
from 1983, one which shows a bit of wear from having been in my wallet
for several years.
Her funeral service will be on Thursday, August 19th, at 11 AM at St.
Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis (Hennepin
Avenue and Loring Park). The Very Reverend Spenser Simrill, Dean of
the Cathedral, will be the celebrant. A reviewal will begin one hour
prior at 10 AM. A luncheon will follow the service. Plans for interment
will be developed at a later date.
Family and friends have suffered a great and far too sudden loss. Your
kind thoughts and prayers and companionship are greatly appreciated.
Love and peace,
-- Matt Cunningham
