The "Friends of Marino Pieretti Jacket" is awarded in memory of the late Marino Pieretti of San Francisco. It is presented to individuals who have sacrificed their energy and resources to (1) preserve remembrances of professional baseball players who played only for the love of the game and the cheer of the fans, or (2) foster the Marino Pieretti spirit in youth baseball programs. In 2004, "The Jacket" was presented to Bill Swank, baseball historian, at ceremonies at Dominic's restaurant in San Mateo, California.
